Here are the steps to painting at home…

Step One: Pick your item(s)

Browse items in our shop and add the items you would like to your cart.

Step Two: Pick your glaze

After adding items to the cart during check out, pick the colors (this is at check out in the notes section) and check out. You can find the glazes on the glaze selection page.

When listing glaze selections for multiple items list each item separately. Identify the main glaze color and note that it is the main color, then list the accent glaze color. This is very important to ensure you have enough glaze. There is a sample glaze notation on the glaze selection page.

Step Three: Pick up your pottery

Pick-up location is Pottery by Jessica Studio in SE Rochester (address will be provided when your items are ready for pick up)  There is a no contact cabinet outside of the studio. Once your order is ready for pick up you will get an email. Hours of pick up are between 9AM and 9PM,

Everything you need (brushes, paint, instructions and your pottery) will be at the pick-up location. 

Step Four: Paint at home!

Remember the colors are non-toxic and water based so they wash out of hair, clothes and carpet. Once a long long time ago my tiny child ate some as she was painting and now you can see she is a happy healthy grown child.   Read the included instructions for painting tips and techniques. Have fun creating!

SUPER IMPORTANT! Please have names or initials on the pieces in glaze.  

Step Five: Return your items for Firing

Pack back up your items when you’re done and bring your items and brushes back to the studio. We will then dip your items in a clear coat and fire them.

Step Six: Pick up your fired Items

We will alert you when your items are finished and ready to pick up. Please keep in mind that the turnaround after drop off can be up to 2 weeks or more depending on where we are in firing.
